Lettuce

I love fresh lettuce, and lettuce from the supermarket is never fresh.

It’s also difficult to buy in small amounts so I often end up throwing some away.

Lettuce is one of the main things that got me into growing my own food. I always had a pot of lettuce growing in my windowsill if I was staying somewhere for the summer. That way I had fresh lettuce on demand, without the waste.

It is also very easy to grow.

The main problem you get with lettuce is slugs and snails. I will talk about these later, as I have spent a lot of time testing solutions to the snail problem!
